So I must apologize for not posting in a while. It seems our lives have been chock full of this and that, and when I do get some down time, I'm usually sprawled on the couch catching up on missed episodes of the Real Housewives. Anyway...
Christmas is almost here...but if I were to speak that statement, I'm not sure how it would sound. Of course, I love the holidays. There's nothing better than snuggling inside at my mom's house or my in-laws' house and chowing down on some good ol' home cooking. I love waking up, pouring myself a big steaming cup of coffee, and watching my family open their presents. That is when all is right with the world.
It seems that I have trouble (as do millions of others), though, with the few weeks leading up to Christmas. I am forever finding myself bogged down and stressed out with trying to choose that perfect gift. Then the cards start rolling in, and of course, I beat myself up in trying to decide on one design for our holiday cards. And then, of course, after all the shopping is done, I'm left with the daunting task of wrapping all the presents. My husband is fantastic, don't get me wrong, but the one thing he will not do is wrap presents. Not because he's too manly, but because I gripe at him for not tying the bow just right. I can't help it though...I appreciate a beautifully-wrapped present.
That's why this year a few of my closest friends and I decided to have ourselves a wrapping party. Driven by the "when life gives you lemons" mantra, we decided to pool our paper and ribbons, wear our most comfortable sweatpants, and of course, make ourselves delicious cocktails all while producing the pretty presents. I can't wait...sitting around in comfortable clothes drinking a nice red doing crafts and gossipping? I'm thinking this will become a holiday tradition.
One more note...when I say wrapping party, all I can think about are the three of us girls busting out some Tupac. If you know us, you'll appreciate the mental image.
Happy Holidays!
