On September 17, our best friends welcomed their first child, a boy named Elliott Carl. My husband Shane and I are overjoyed at his arrival! Aside from wanting to lavish the little blonde-haired, blue-eyed doll with kisses and hugs, we also want to hug and congratulate our friends on such an amazing accomplishment. The four of us are similar in many ways, so to witness them learning about the pregnancy, realizing the magnitude of the situation, and preparing to become parents has made us so incredibly proud of them. It's also helped establish a little confidence within ourselves that one day we will be able to accomplish the same amazing feat.
Needless to say, I'm psyched to do the announcements :)
